ABOUT US

Solid plastering, Stucco,
Wet Plaster, Render…
Mud slingers?

Somehow, Australia has inherited the vocabulary from every corner of the earth when it comes to describing, dare I say it…. RENDERER’S… but what you typed into Google isn’t as important to us as what you’ll call us once we leave your property – mates!

Who are we?

We are a team of Renderer’s based in Sydney and surrounds, trade qualified, licenced and insured and eager for both new and existing residential work.

The team is lead by Ciaran who takes pride in personally overseeing, preparing and working on each project.

Originally completing his trade in Queensland, Ciaran brings to the Sydney Rendering team not only a broad range of experience, but friendly and approachable service. Gaining experience across different states has exposed Ciaran to a multitude of various projects, products and methods, that has strengthened his knowledge and network.

What do we do?

Whilst we’d like to say the cliché “No job too big or small” – that’s not quite true. We are a small team that specialise in cement rendering houses (new and existing). Although we have experience in rendering on multi-story commercial buildings, we prefer the satisfaction gained in utilising our small team in transforming houses!

Here at Sydney Rendering, we have identified that a good finish isn’t just what our customers are after in a tradesperson – they want good service too!

We endeavour to make the journey as smooth as possible, starting right here!

HOW WE DO IT

Research

We have attempted to capture as many as FAQ’s as possible to assist your research. So no doubt first things first, how much does it cost to render a house? In understanding that pricing is a major consideration in your decision-making process, we’ve attempted to provide as much information as we can to assist you in price estimations on our Pricing Guide page.

If you’re a stickler for technical data jump onto our Resource page where you will find plenty of product specific data to satisfy the deepest of questions.

Of course, if there’s anything unanswered here or you just want to say g’day –
drop us a line here.

Advice

No doubt if you have already spent any time scrolling through Google regarding rendering – you’ll still have some questions. We’re here to help you through the sea of information.

Research is one thing, but advice is another. Once we have a good knowledge of your specific requirements, we can expertly provide you advice on the best industry practice, products or systems.

Call us or drop us a message for obligation-free and well-informed advice.

Quoting Process

When it comes to the time you want an onsite quote for your project – you can count on us.

We respect your time and busy schedule and will turn up when we say we will. If you can’t make it – that’s no problem – under most circumstances, and with your permission, we can access most houses for a measure and quote without access being required (you’ll know if this is the case for your home better than us).

Our quoting process is based on a number of factors, but the main one being total surface area. You’ll find a more comprehensive Pricing Guide here.

We’ll endeavour to get back to you your carefully considered quote as quickly as possible via email – generally the same day.

Unlike some of our industry counterparts, we aren’t worried, in fact, we encourage you to openly compare our product and services with multiple rendering contractors to ensure our services and your decision is thoroughly considered.

Warranty & After Sales Care

Clear and reliable communication is what we strive for before, during and after we are completed onsite. We’re only a phone call away, and are happy to help with any of your questions or concerns. Whether it’s advice on subsequent or adjoining works, or a wall is unfortunate enough to be subject to future damage you can rest assured that our reputation and longevity in the industry holds a greater weight than any manufacturer’s warranty fine print!

Of course, we understand that a written warranty is important for handovers, or future transfers and work closely with our suppliers to correctly document your project allowing us to not just provide you with a 10-year product warranty, but also a comprehensive workmanship warranty as well.

Onsite

Should Sydney Rendering be lucky enough to be awarded your project, you’ll be in great hands!

Once a suitable date has been agreed, we’ll arrange for our trusted suppliers to deliver all the render product directly to site. For a typical house lot this is anywhere between 1-4 pallets of render product. We’ll liase on your behalf as to the best location to store it, but it arrives well protected to simply be left out in the weather.

Shortly after, on the agreed day, we will arrive to site and start our preparation – if you’re available to be there on the morning we commence, great! We can cover any last-minute questions. If not, no problem – we’ve got this!

Preparation is the key to a great finish. If your house is new, it’ll include the application of tape and plastic to all window and door fixtures – if it’s an existing house, the preparation will also include the protection of ground coverings such as pavers, tiles or concrete driveways.

At this stage we treat any surfaces that need some extra attention – mudding in loose bricks, cleaning of dust or mould, key coating any non-porous areas, identifying the location of articulation joints, and the installation of PVC corner beads. You can read our blog here about why we advocate for the use of PVC trims!

Depending on your substrate and selected render system, this next step is generally the big ‘Wow’ moment. More often than not, we get comments about how great the job looks before we have even finished the first coat! Its not hard to see why, the first coat does all the heavy lifting when it comes to covering the existing surface and getting the wall screeded flat – within hours, you’ll hardly recognise your house!

The second coat typically goes on slightly thinner compared to the first and it’s the coat that requires a little more finesse! Once applied, its floated and depending on your selected finish, is either left “off the float” – ready for us to apply an acrylic topcoat, or, “sponged finish” – render for paint. Click here for more information about your Rendering Options.

When it comes time for clean-up, our extra efforts at the preparation stage save everyone unnecessary heartache. All render mess is removed from your property and responsibly discarded. Our goal here is simple, to make it look like we’ve never been, of course other than the render on the wall!

Why we do it?

Of course, it’s not just for the love of render, or the need for a job. The team behind Sydney Rendering understand that they are not individuals, but rather that they exist in a wider community.

For this reason, as utilitarians in this community, we feel it to be our duty and pleasure, to give back by the means to what we can afford and into organisations that have a positive effect on society.

Sydney Rendering has partnered with various community groups and sporting clubs over the years, as well partnering financially to the work of Opportunity International Australia.
